As a SAG-AFTRA member, I stand with my fellow actors and support the strike against the AMPTP. The AMPTP has refused to make a fair deal on television, theatrical and streaming work covered by our TV/Theatrical Agreements. We must come together to ensure our rights and livelihoods are protected. We didn't want a strike, but we are not afraid of a fight. We are #SAGAFTRAstrong! #SAGAFTRAstrike

About
Barry Clifton5279.jpg

Barry began studying Musical Theatre at The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith at the age of 13. Four years later, he began an education of another kind, joining the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. After being honorably discharged in 1981, he spent many a long day's night traveling a long and winding road for several years, setting aside his aspirations as an actor.

Finally remembering the calling of his youth, in 1991 Barry began the journey back to his life's passion. He performed in several stage productions to regain his footing, eventually becoming an Equity Member Candidate in 2016 while a member of the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre company. During this time Barry also appeared in over 30 films, working with a wide array of filmmakers, from collegiate film students to veteran Hollywood icons. In 2019 Barry joined SAG-AFTRA and set about pursuing acting as a full-time career.

Although much time was spent pursuing other interests, Barry views his motley adventures during much of his life as an investment in character development. Drawing on his diverse past, mistakes made, and lessons learned, he is able to make use of his life experiences to create grounded characters, anchored in reality. He is thankful for the opportunities he has had, and looks forward to many more!
